The Man: John McCain, the Junior Senator from Arizona, will be the Republican nominee for President. He is a man who deserves a great deal of respect for what he has sacrificed for his country; however, John McCain is wrong for America. John McCain's no-nonsense politics and straight talk attitude exemplifies every failed and misguided policy of the Bush Administration.
My father was an atheist who turned agnostic at my birth and before he died was a converted Christian. I didn't understand what he meant about the "agnostic stage" in his life until my first born. At that moment I strongly believed in a higher power that I personally call God.
I'm a transfer student at SUNY Potsdam and I don't like walking to class, or anywhere on campus, actually. Now, this is not out of any disdain for North Country climate - I'm Canadian and can endure the weather. My complaint is in regards to the excessive amount of expectoration that occurs around campus.
A couple weeks back, we got the privilege of seeing something we rarely see from a politician, and that is a genuine discourse on race. Barack Obama delivered a speech which was designed to deal with both the comments made by his minister and to address head on the issue of race in this campaign.
