International Education and Programs Office offers study abroad opportunities for all students

During the 2007-2008 academic year, 131 SUNY Potsdam students traveled abroad, while the academic year before only 35 students traveled abroad. Associate Director of International Education and Programs Krista LaVack said the number of students that travel abroad varies yearly.

SGA works with half-million dollar budget funded by student activity fee

SUNY Potsdam's undergraduate students pay an activity fee each semester, which has created Student Government Association's budget of $518,944 for the 2008-2009 academic year. The Mandatory Student Activity Fee is $80 per semester, which began this fall semester.

Winter driving requires more attention from drivers. You should have a greater distance between cars so that you have more room to stop if it's slippery. Get some winter wipers for your car; ice buildup can cause problems with regular wipers. Once per month, put a can of dry gas in your tank when you fill up; it helps keep moisture out of gas lines.

Tanya's fit tips: Time to reflect

As this will be my last tip before the New Year, I think it's a great time to talk about goal setting. Traditionally, January is the hottest time of year in the fitness world. It's when everyone who made New Year's Resolutions to be fit, lose weight, get bigger pecs or whatever sounds good at the time- flock to the gym to make good on their promise to themselves.
