As an attendee to the event (and as a first time rave attendee) I can say WAIH succeeded on several fronts. The first of these successes was an abundance of free stuff. In addition to free admission, WAIH offered a plethora of free glow sticks of all sizes and colors to those who attended to ensure that no one was left out of the glow stick swinging madness. They also offered free water to the rigorous dancers to ensure no one became dehydrated. It should be noted that the water was kept near the entrance table to ensure they were monitored at all times.
This brings me to my next praise, and that is the feeling of safety, which was fostered not only by WAIH, but also by the attendees. Prior to the event, I can honestly say I did have some fears of not only having to endure ravers inebriated by assorted hallucinogenic chemicals, but also anyone who may try to harm others with said chemicals. These fears were quelled not only by the precautions I saw with the water, but also by the overall attitude of the crowd. It seemed everyone was there to have a good time and respect those around them.
Lastly, the music crafted by former WAIH DJ Mike Belheumer fit the occasion exceedingly well and remained fresh and interesting throughout the night. I usually only dance in public to live bands of the jam or funk persuasion, but I can honestly say I had no problems moving to Belheumer's concoctions for extended periods of time.
WAIH's rave was a great experience. I guarantee you'll see me at next semester's event with glowing paraphernalia in hand and a mission to move until I collapse
