The Potsdam Video Game Club (PVGC) and SES held their "Rock Out" event in Hurley's on Friday, January 29th at 7:30 p.m.

Bill Kline, a mutual member of both the PVGC and SES, put the event together almost entirely. By combining elements of both clubs, they were able to create a night filled with music-based video games such as Guitar Hero 2, Rockband 2, and Dance Dance Revolution. People were able to move from game to game, testing their music skills as well as their ability to please the crowd.

On the main stage of Hurley's, where Rockband 2 was set up, anybody could step up and grab one of the various Rockband instruments and perform as a faux-band for everbody. Even a few members of the local band Sedanimal took to the stage with the plastic instruments and played songs that their band has covered.

Adam Wells, president of PVGC, walked throughout the room to check up on the games, being especially helpful to this reporter who had no idea how to work DJ Hero.

If you love to play video games, compete in tournaments and want to hang out with other people that do as well, you can always go to PVGC meetings, which are on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. in the Fireside Lounge in the Student Union. There are always video games hooked up, but all members are encouraged to bring their own games, so that they can share the fun.
