Last week in SGA, an election was held in each house. In the Senate, Avatar Davis won the position of Sergeant at Arms. In the Assembly, Leanne Merrill won the position of President Pro Tempore. The Officer Reports section saw President Danielle McMullen report that the SUNY Palooza would be on March 24, 2010. Vice President Joshua Rich reported that district reports submitted in Assembly are being looked into. He also announced that committee chair reviews would be done next week. Treasurer Paul Lipsky announced the lines, which were the same as last week except for Conference, which has $450 left.
In the Senate, an adjunct professor was a guest speaker. She teaches in Community Health, and offered students the opportunity to take a Winterim class taught in Miami in January. The total cost is $1,500, including airfare, travel, and a hotel on the beach. For more information, check with the SGA office.
The SGA has a Relay for Life Team. If you are interested in joining this team, please feel free to sign up and help us. We will take anyone, even if you are not in SGA. Email John Proetta or Justin Lefler for more information. The name of the club is Potsdam SGA. Leanne Merrill reported that the General Education committee met and is reviewing their requirements, as the SUNY system is reducing them.
In the Assembly, the Ice Hockey Club constitution was passed with a few amendments. In both houses, new bill 0921 was tabled. 0921 is a bill by the Frisbee Club requesting funds to attend a coaches workshop to put them in good standing with the school.
